Artfullyours was engaged by The Africa Center to create a 45-foot, 3-story installation in celebration of World Africa Day. The Africa Center is a multidisciplinary institution in New York City that aims to transform the world’s understanding of Africa, its Diaspora, and the role of people of African descent in the world. Artfullyours designed a layout that seamlessly integrated 55 African Flags recognized by the African Union, and the Pan-African flag into the trapezoid-shaped windows. The result was a captivating display that showcased the vibrant colors, patterns, and symbols of each flag, celebrating the rich heritage and collective strength of the African continent.
Artfullyours was approached by The Africa Center with a clear vision to create an awe-inspiring layout that would commemorate World Africa Day. The goal was to showcase the diversity and cultural richness of the African continent while promoting unity and pride among the African diaspora. Artfullyours’ task was to craft a layout that would beautifully accommodate the 55 African flags and the prominent Pan African flag, redesigning the flags to fit the unique trapezoid-shaped windows.
Artfullyours successfully designed and executed a visually stunning installation for The Africa Center’s Africa Day Weekend Celebration which was held in East Harlem, NYC. The collaboration resulted in a grand display featuring 55 African flags and the Pan African flag. The installation, which served as a centerpiece for the celebration, garnered attention and admiration from attendees. Mayor Eric Adams and other local civic leaders provided remarks, further highlighting the significance of the event.
